Verbal Painter

Descriptive essays are one of the numerous types of different essays which students have to write during their studies at higher educational establishments. Except descriptive essays, they also write argumentative essays, analytical essays, critical essays and many others.

But descriptive essay has its own specific peculiarities and that’s why it is worth to pay more attention on this type. What is the purpose of descriptive essay? The purpose of descriptive essay is to give the clear image of somebody or something which is the object of the description. It is not enough to tell about, it is necessary to cause reaction of all sensory organs.

When you describe something or somebody by means of words, it would be great to imagine that you are painter who can depict the object of description by means of colors. So, just imagine that you are verbal painter who is creating verbal masterpiece.  While writing descriptive essay it is necessary to use all your organs of the senses. It means that the object of description should be described from visual side, from sound side, from tactile side, smell side and taste side. You have to describe using all these senses. Only in such case your essay will cause necessary effect and will be evaluated respectively.

It presupposes certain talent because it is not easy to transform five sensations into verbal form. But if you manage to do it, then reading your essay, reader will clear imagine that object which was described. In order to achieve such effect, it is necessary to have large vocabulary, so it would be wise to read from time to time the dictionary of synonyms.
