It is very important for the descriptive essays to be detailed. The reader should get the full picture of what you are describing. What is more, your description should arouse some emotions and feelings.

To write a detailed descriptive essay you can do the next:

  • You have decided on the topic of your work. Once you have a clear idea of what you are going to describe, start making the first sketch. You should write down all the words that come on your mind when you think about your chosen subject.
  • After that look at the list that you get and start thinking of the details for each word.

If you want to have a lot of bright and fascinating details, you can ask yourself several questions.

  • What is important and interesting about your chosen subject?
  • What associations are connected with this subject?
  • What do you feel when you see the subject?
  • What was happening around when you saw the subject?
  • Were there any smells, sounds, tastes when you saw the subject?

You should try to make the readers feel the same that you have when you first saw the subject. By the way, only the details will not be enough for that purpose. You should think of specific words that will help you to convey all the feelings. After reading your descriptive essay the readers should have a feeling that they saw, touched or were somewhere near the subject.
