Tone of a Descriptive Essay
When you write a descriptive essay, it is very important that you chosen a correct tone for it. For example, if your descriptive essay has a formal tone, it will stop to be a descriptive essay, and will turn into an informative essay. You may be certain that your teacher will not pat you on the back for it.
The descriptive essay’s tone has to be informal but mild and expressive. Since the descriptive essay requires that you described an object on the assumption of your personal impression but not of the academic knowledge, you should write it colorfully. The aim of the descriptive essay is to reproduce what you see in the minds of your essay readers in a form of a mental picture. To wit, you should make the readers see what you saw, to make them imagine the object which you describe.
The tone of the descriptive paper has to be expressive because it will allow you to touch the chords of the people’s souls. People who read your essay have to become the participators of the events in which you participated. You have to prepare such an essay that the readers did not remember that they read it. they have to believe that they were with you and saw the same things as you. This assignment is impossible to be completed if you write an essay in formal tone. Only the expressive tone is suitable for such an essay, because it allows reproducing all the colors and pictures.
